In her newest video, Katy Perry has traded in her cream-squirting bodice for a military-issue combat uniform!
Part Of Me was debuted yesterday, and shows Katy ditching her cheating boyfriend and joining the marines. The video co-stars real marines and to ensure she fit in when filming, Katy endured an intense three-day boot camp where she learnt how to flip an attacker, wrestle underwater and properly eat a military MRE (Meals Ready to Eat).
There has been a lot of speculation as to whether the song is a dig at Katy's now ex-husband Russell Brand, who abruptly filed for divorce after a mere 14 months of marriage. The rumours are that the song was orignially written about ex-boyfriend Travis McCoy, and that with the addition of a few new lines ("So you can keep the diamond ring/It don't mean nothing anyway/In fact you can keep everything/Except for me") the song was made into a dig at a new ex...
Whatever the rumours, I think this is a great song, and she looks totally awesome in the video!
So now we've seen Katy as a 80's geek, an alien, an old woman, and a marine! I can't wait to see what she'll come up with for her next video!
What do you think of Katy's new video?

The highly anticipated film The Hunger Games premiered this week in Los Angeles and London. This film is the first of three, based on the books by Suzanne Collins, and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Woody Harrelson, Stanley Tucci and other stars.
The Hunger Games tells the story of Katniss Everdeen (Jennifer Lawrence), who lives in a post-apocalyptic world in the country of Panem where the countries of North America once existed. The Capitol, a highly advanced metropolis, holds absolute power over the rest of the nation. The Hunger Games are an annual event in which one boy and one girl aged 12 to 18 from each of the 12 districts surrounding the Capitol are selected by lottery to compete in a televised battle in which only one person can survive. Katniss' sister Prim is selected to compete and Katniss volunteers to replace her sister. She competes against other teens, as well as Peeta (Josh Hutcherson), who is in love with Katniss.
I read the books a few years ago, and loved them, so I am very excited to see what the film is like! So far I have only heard good things!
The main cast: Josh Hutcherson, Jennifer Lawrence and Liam Hemsworth (left: LA, right: London).

The hit US show The Voice is being brought over to the UK this year!
The star-studded team searching for talent includes: Jessie J, BEP's Will.I.Am, Sir Tom Jones and Danny O'Donoghue from the Script. Producers have been keen to emphasise they are coaches and not judges "unlike other shows" (is that a dig at The X Factor?). The aim of the series is to find a pop star based solely on their singing voice and at the end of the 11-week process, the winner is given a record deal with Universal. The twist is that the four coaches have their backs to the performers and only get to see what they look like once they hit a buzzer, indicating they want that singer on their team. If more than one coach hits their button, then the performer gets to choose who they will work with.
Sir Tom has said that he thinks the show has more credibility than other singing programmes, because the judging panel is made up of four successful singers. He said: "we've been through it, we know what it's like to get up and perform, unlike some judges on some other shows that just don't know, they've never done it. The ones that have are not very good anyway," he says (another dig?).
The show will begin on March 24th on BBC and will be hosted by Holly Willoughby and Reggie Yates. It is set to rival ITV's Britain's Got Talent, which will air at the same time!

Katy Perry has caused paparazzi scrums everywhere she goes this Paris Fashion Week appearing at Viktor & Rolf and Yves Saint Laurent earlier in the week. She set the flashbulbs popping once again as she took her front row seat at the Chanel autumn/winter 2012 show. Katy Perry shared the front row with fellow US singer Alicia Keys who accessorised her outfit with an Indian-inspired hairband from Chanel's recent Paris-Bombay collection. Also there was Chanel ambassador Leigh Lezark, who shunned her signature edgy look for a more sophisticated image. British model Laura Bailey was also at the front row.

Christopher Francis Ocean - or Frank Ocean is definitely one to watch out for as he is set to finally establish himself as a solo artist of worldwide acclaim in 2012.
This year he came second place (the lovely Micheal Kiwanuka came first palace) in BBC's Sound of 2012, which sets out to name 'the next big thing' by selecting a winner from a list of mostly unheard of musicians which have been selected by radio DJ's, producers, critics and magazine/website editors. Previous winners have included Jessie J (2011), Adele (2008), Keane (2004) and 50 Cent (2003). Other artists in the top five in previous years include Florence and the Machine (2009), Duffy (2008), Klaxons (Sound of 2007), and Dizzee Rascal (Sound of 2003).
At 18-years-old, Frank Ocean moved from New Orleans to Los Angeles, following hurricane Katrina, to work on his music and in 2010 he joined sprawling hip-hop collective Odd Future Wolf Gang Kill Them All - better known as OFWGKTA. The 24-year-old has also made a name for him self as a songwriter, writing tunes for the likes of John Legend, Brandy and most recently Beyonce (I Miss You from the album 4).
In February 2011 he released his debut mixtape Nostalgia, Ultra which was appluded by critics for its cleaver use of samples from Coldplay, MGMT and The Eagles as well as it vivid stories and satisfying hooks. His sound has been said to have bridged the gap between classic vocal R&B and smart hip-hop; this has made the album rare in it's feeling of completeness and coherence. Many have drew up comparisons between Frank Ocean and Drake. Los Angeles Times pop critic, Randall Roberts, made this comparison but added that Ocean "one-ups them with more wit and better narratives". His mixtape caught the attention of music industry heavyweights, Kanye West and Jay-Z, who featured him on two tracks on their Watch The Throne album. Now he is working on his first studio album.
My favourite tracks from his mixtape are Novacane and Swim Good, I also love Thinking About You, which is a leaked track that he actually wrote for Roc Nation's Bridget Kelly.
